Doom Hangover
I was up late last night reading and working. Woke up this morning and felt like I was hungover---but I didn't drink a drop. I am just pissed off at the world and pissed off at the economy and pissed off that everything is more expensive and pissed off people owe me money and pissed off deals are'NT closing.
I think I od'd last night on doom and gloom. Like, holy shit, the wheels realy are coming off the US economy.... |
Re: Doom Hangover
Dogfarm,
Yeah, we went and looked a REO last weekend here in Denver. TONS and TONS of REO properties. NUMEROUS ONES have been vacant a YEAR or longer. That's why I keep trying to tell people we got about ONE YEAR before the wheels REALLY DO come off. MAYBE SOONER. But I kinda doubt that King George (aka 'Temporary') is going to let it happen on his watch. God HELP the next group of politicians that are in office when it occurs. An armored limo won't even help. |

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. |
Re: Doom Hangover
I understand completely. Last week the wife and oldest son had a 'family intervention' with me ( I think the talk of selling the house and living out of a tent may have pushed her over the edge ... hum... little does she know). Anyway .... I guess only seeing the profile of me at the computer for the last month was enough for her, but to my credit, I showered every couple of days just before the NIKKEI started to post in the evening.
Lets face it ..... you don't get to see the world economy self-destruct every day!! So for now I have to pretend other things matter to me like changing my clothes, talking to my son about school, trimming the Xmas tree .... I think I might get off on good behavior in a couple of weeks. Until then I have to sneak a peak at the forum when she is not looking ..... got to go ..... I hear footsteps. :smokin: |
Re: Doom Hangover
Come on, guys. I've been watching immenent disastor since at least the 1970s and we're all still here. All you really need is air, water, food and shelter. Everything else is a luxury. Besides, it looks like a slow slide. You'll have time to adapt.

Re: Doom Hangover
^hehe hoot, but I agree you can get too much of a good (or bad) thing. I used to listen to AJ a lot and decided that after a while I needed a break from it. To get outside and re-connect. There is a world out there and it IS worth being a part of.
Infact what it did for me was reinforce that there was something worth fighting for. The sun DOES come up and it IS a wonderful miraculous place the earth we live on. We all have people in our families that don't know whats going on and many can't comprehend and IF S does HTF then they will need someone to guide them. I understand real SHTF scenarios may not mean you can help extended family or maybe even immediate family for that matter, especially in some cities but in outer areas or in the rurals it may be easier to help. Get outside and take in some air, walk a park, hike a hill or two, ride a bike, go for a paddle or a swim at the beach, watch the wildlife going about their thing, fish a little. Those things will refresh you and remind you why. |
